Steps followed when installing a Kitchen Cabinet
Step 1: Get Ready
- Check the cabinets to make sure they’re correct.
- Mark where the cabinets will go on the walls.
- Find the highest spot on the floor to keep cabinets level.
- Take off the doors of wall cabinets to make it easier.
Step 2: Install Bottom Cabinets
- Line up the bottom cabinets and screw them together.
- Use small wood pieces (shims) to fix uneven floors or walls.
- Measure 34 inches up from the floor for the countertop height.
- Add leveling legs to the bottom corners to keep cabinets steady.
Step 3: Install Wall Cabinets
- Start in a corner and work outward.
- Use hanging rails if needed, placing them 2.5 inches below the ceiling.
- Screw each cabinet to the one next to it to keep them straight.
- Check that all cabinets are level and even.
Step 4: Finish Up
- Add toe-kick moldings to hide the legs and make cabinets look neat.
- Put the doors and drawers back on, making sure they’re even.
